Penn State baseball player Michael Anderson collects Big Ten honor

UNIVERSITY PARK — Penn State baseball senior Michael Anderson was honored with an All-Big Ten first-team selection as a utility player on Tuesday.

PSU redshirt senior Ben DeMell was Penn State’s Sportsmanship Award honoree.

Anderson is Penn State’s 18th All-Big Ten first-team honoree. Joining Paxton Kling in 2025, Penn State has first-team All-Big Ten selections in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2011-12.

Oneacre named

Penn State softball freshman third baseman Allison Oneacre garnered additional national acclaim on Tuesday afternoon, with the rookie infielder securing Softball America Freshman All-American status in that organization’s postseason release.

Oneacre is responsible for the greatest offensive season by a Nittany Lion freshman in program history. The Alpharetta, Georgia, native became the first student-athlete in Penn State program history to be named both a unanimous first-team All-Big Ten selection and unanimous Big Ten All-Freshman team designee in the same season.
