Red Flash men done in by poor second half in loss

FORT MYERS, Fla. — The Saint Francis men’s basketball stumbled in the first round of the Geico Coconut Hoops Royal Palms Tournament, losing to Belmont 94-57 Monday.
Belmont, now 6-0, took the lead it would not relinquish with 17:44 left in the first half. The Red Flash put a little bit of a scare into the Bruins with an 11-0 run to end the first half down only eight points at 36-28.
Ahmad Harrison paced the Red Flash (0-5) with a season-high 17 points. Teammate Skylar Wicks posted 16 points and seven rebounds.
Ralph Martino, Jr. finished with seven points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals for the Flash.
Belmont got 18 points from Saint Francis returns to action in the consolation game against Troy on Wednesday. Game time is 11 a.m.
Tyler Lundblade led the Bruins with 18 points, followed by 17 from Jack Smiley.
Troy lost to Toledo, 75-68, in the first game of the day. It will be the first meeting between the Red Flash and the Trojans.
