Two-way tie for first at Huntingdon golf club

HUNTINGDON — Two teams — Ed Gargula-Alan Herbster and Bob Lamey-Geoff Clarke — tied for first place at 4-3 in the Big Orange Golf League at the Huntingdon Country Club.
The two other teams in the league — Larry Newton-Gerry Hugler and Phil Thompson-Keith Black — both went 3-4.
Lamey was the low gross winner (39) while Herbster (34) the low net winner. The shot of the day was a 15-foot birdie putt on No. 17.
Joe Masciangelo subbed for Thompson.
Sylvan Hills
HOLLIDAYSBURG — Connie Angeski, Carol Young, Shirley Wilkinson and Sandy Murphy shot a 100 to win the Sylvan Hills Ladies Golf Association’s “Shamble.”
Rosey McCoy, Bonnie Deem, Pam Ergler and Pam Riley shot a 107 to finish second, and Sue Mielnik, Linda Derman, Yvonne Gentry and Ruth Lucey were third (109).
In Butch Focht Senior Men’s results, Tom Shea and Al Wilkes shot a 33 to finish ahead of Terry Goldstein, Gary Zimmerman and Gary Phennicie (35).
Joe DeGennaro, Rodger Fair and Scott McGrain were third with a 36.
