Hollidaysburg’s Addison Smith competes in 2.5K open water event in New Jersey

MAMORA, N.J. — Blair Regional YMCA and Hollidaysburg Area High School swimmer Addison Smith qualified and competed for a second year in the 2025 Eastern Zone Open Water Championship sanctioned by Middle Atlantic and USA Swimming.
The open water meet was hosted by Egg Harbor Township Seahawks at Beesley’s Point on Saturday.
Smith finished 42nd out of 79 elite swimmers from the Northeast with a time of 31:49 in the Women’s 2.5K Open. More than 400 open water swimmers competed in the 1.25, 2.5K and 5K open water events.

HOLLIDAYSBURG — The team of Keith Saleme, Terry Burd, Brandon Brown and Todd Homan carded a 54 to win the MBG Golf Classic scramble recently.
The team of Mike Macionsky, Mark Saltzburg and Nick and Anthony DeGol were second with a 56, and Ethan Devore, Rich Bauer, Max Hetrick and Ben Gorman placed third with a 60.
Taps triumphs
Vinnie Hite and Noah Bonsell each drove in three runs, and Bonsell had two hits to lead Taps on 2nd to a 20-4 win over Windows Perfection in a 13U Kelley Federation game on Friday at Greenwood.
