The Altoona Area School District Board of Directors hired AAHS graduate Jake Colledge as the new boys and girls high school tennis coach.

Colledge, the son of former Altoona high school girls basketball coach Miriam Colledge, will take over the role formally held by Eric Hovan for the last 24 years.

Jess Stiffler was also approved as the new high school softball coach at the last meeting. Stiffler takes over for John Benson, who resigned after last season.

Stiffler is already running a softball camp at Logan Elementary School this week through Thursday for Altoona and surrounding areas.

In addition to the hires, Altoona posted a new job listing for head girls golf coach, which will be a new position to coach a new program at the school.
