Eleanor ‘Butch’ Feltenberger

Jan. 14, 1928 – July 6, 2026

Eleanor “Butch” Feltenberger, 98, of Tyrone, entered into eternal rest on Monday at her home, surrounded by her family. Butch was born in Tyrone to the late Sarah Helen (Lucas) and C. Fred Snyder.

In addition to her parents, Butch was preceded in death by her husband, Roy; a son, Jay; sisters,

Virginia Shultz and Majorie Kaspick; and a brother, Clifford. Butch was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Butch is survived by her loving son, Dave (Carol Speece) Feltenberger; her grandchildren, Lynne and Tej Feltenberger; a great-grandson, Clark Feltenberger; a special nephew, Fred Kaspick; extended family, Ed and Susan Keys; her special friends, church family and neighbors; and many nephews and nieces.

She was a graduate of Tyrone High School, where she was a cheerleader and had the distinction of attending school for 12 years without being late or absent.

Her working years in Tyrone included the Wood Office of Westvaco and later Flavored Nuts Co.

Eleanor was an avid sports fan. She loved music and especially loved children, being known as the “Gumball Lady.”

She is a member of Northwood Baptist Chapel and a lifetime member of the Monogram Club.

A public viewing will be held from 1 until the 2 p.m. funeral service Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Richard H. Searer Funeral Home Inc., 115 W. 10th St., Tyrone, with Pastor Tim Young officiating.

Burial will take place at East Lawn, privately with the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be sent in Eleanor’s name to Northwood Baptist Chapel, 402 Hancock St., Tyrone, PA 16686.
