Foursome win Sinking Valley golf scramble

TYRONE — Andrew Ferguson, Mark Roth, Gregory Ferguson and Joey DelGrosso won the Sinking Valley Country Club’s Fourth of July scramble with a 58.

The teams of Blake Brooks, Ethan Vipond, Chase Maceno and Jake Meredith, Hunter Walk, Levi Walk, Luke Walk and Luke Brooks and JR Leonard, Tom Kyle, Derek Winterburn and Rick Barefoot all shot 60.

JR Leonard, Gib Leech, Blake Brooks, Kim Hoffer, Jason Parsons, Mike Campagna, Ty Uplinger and Jeremiah Focht each won skill prizes.

Iron Masters

ORE HILL — The team of Steve Beach, Anthony Musselman, Ken Emigh and Bryan James shot a 116 to win the Red, White & Blue Tournament held at the Iron Masters Country Club.

Finishing second at 119 was the team of Connie Bolger, John Bolger, Gwen Paden and Kathy Bottenfield. Two strokes back in third at 121 was the team of Cody Clapper, Wally Clapper, Chip Will and Wes Elder.

Summit CC

CRESSON — The team of Doug Fogel, Tanner Fogel, Mike Lilly and Aloysius Lee combined for a 55 to win the Mike Tremel Memorial Golf Tournament held at the Summit Country Club.

One stroke back in second at 56 was the team of Nick Filak, Steve Martynuska, Dan Martynuska and Colin Casale.

Sylvan Hills

HOLLIDAYSBURG — Ken Stockley and Mike Knorr were the low gross winners in the Thursday Night Golf League at the Sylvan Hills Golf Club.

Both shot 39s.

Jerry Long was the low net winner at 32.

Closest-to-the-pin winners were Matt Neugebauer and Long, while Eric Johnson, Jim Seiler and Long were individual hole winners.

The league leaders are the team of Cliff Lawson and Tim Wilson.

Huntingdon CC

HUNTINGDON — The team of Geoff Clarke and Ed Gargula went 7-1 during week 8 action in the Big Orange Golf League at the Huntingdon Country Club.

Finishing second was the team of Bob Lamey and Gerry Huggler, who went 4-4. Following them was the team of Alan Herbster and Keith Black 93-50 and Phil Thompson and Larry Newton (2-6).

Clarke and Lamey were tied for low gross winner (35) while Huggler was low net winner (32).

The shot of the day was Gargula’s five-foot downhill putt for par to win the match and the first cycle title.
