Ian Sherlock, Ella McCrum win Angie Gioiosa Memorial Fourth of July Race

Ian Sherlock and Ella McCrum were the respective men’s and women’s champions in Saturday morning’s Angie Gioiosa Memorial Fourth of July Race sponsored by the Blair Regional YMCA.

Sherlock, a Northern Bedford High School graduate who is now living in Waynesboro, was running the 15K for the first time after having won several 5K titles in the holiday event. He paced the men’s field with a time of 54 minutes, 50.88 seconds.

McCrum, a Juniata Valley High school alum, won the women’s 15K race for the second straight year, finishing in a time of 1:01.10.49 that was identical to her winning time in the 2025 race.

The 5K men’s champion was incoming Hollidaysburg High School freshman Mason Kephart, who registered a winning time of 16:29.13, while incoming Bedford High School senior Chloe May won her second straight women’s 5K title with a time of 17:51.87.

Donna Stoltz of Altoona won the championship in the 2-mile walk with a time of 20:17.34.
