Last year during the presidential campaign, we were told if we didn’t vote for a certain candidate, it could be the last election we ever voted in. They lied to the American people. Those who lied were both candidates and celebrities. Did they lie for their political power? Probably. I’ve lived in Altoona all my life, and I’ve lived in the Oak Avenue area for almost 38 years. My question is why is Oak Avenue between 30th and 31st Street so neglected? It’s clearly not part of the parking lot of Dollar General because it’s clearly marked by city street markers as a street. Fred Imler has been the definition of stability for Allegheny Township for 24 years. He has represented the township and its constituents with professionalism, candor and integrity as a conservative leader in the community.
