Bigelow-Cherry has temperament, expertise

I write to endorse Suzanne Bigelow-Cherry for magisterial district justice. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Attorney Bigelow-Cherry for nearly a decade and have seen firsthand her dedication to justice and the citizens of Blair County. Magisterial district justices fulfill a vital role in our legal system. They handle a wide range of matters, from civil claims and landlord-tenant disputes, to preliminary hearings in criminal cases. For many people, this is their day in court. It is essential to the efficient function of our judicial system that these decisions are ...

Bigelow-Cherry is ‘fierce advocate’

We are writing to support Suzanne Bigelow-Cherry for magisterial judge of District Court 24-3-01. Bigelow-Cherry is highly qualified professionally and has the right temperament to perform these required duties. In 1993, she was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, as well as before the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and Middle District of Pennsylvania. She has been practicing law for over 30 years, covering many different areas of law in and out of the courtroom. Bigelow-Cherry is a fierce advocate for her ...

Trump is getting his ultimate revenge

As the song said, “…here I am stuck in the middle with you.” How is it possible that people forgot just how obnoxious and cruel Donald Trump was during his first term? It’s worse now. He’s invaded every inch of our lives. His cabinet punishes us. They lack intelligence, perspective, empathy or compassion. RFK Jr. believes only the strong survive. Eugenics! Warrior Pete Hegseth lives in a muscle-bound Marvel universe where warriors carry the flag of Jesus into battle. Not the Stars and Stripes but the flag of Jesus. To him, there are no war crimes under this ...

Bigelow-Cherry checks all boxes

I write in support of Suzanne Bigelow-Cherry for district justice. Bigelow-Cherry is a farmer’s wife, mother of two grown children, devoted daughter and caregiver to her parents and a former Sunday School teacher and Scout leader. Throughout her career, she has counseled and fought for people from all walks of life. She has fought for crime victims, families who have lost loved ones to drugs and for the safety of abused women and children. These are more than clients to Bigelow-Cherry. They are people who need help through the storms of life. She has guided them through a ...

Bigelow-Cherry has expertise, compassion

I am writing this letter in support of Suzanne Bigelow-Cherry for magisterial district judge. I grew up in Tyrone and went to high school with her. I know her as “Susie.” We both attended college at Pitt. While I stayed in the Pittsburgh area, Bigelow-Cherry returned home. My sister Desiree was a young lady with a disability. When it became necessary for my parents, Herk and Merle Ammerman, to be appointed as her legal guardians, Bigelow-Cherry handled that for them. When my parents aged and needed me to fulfill that role, Bigelow-Cherry represented our family. She has ...

We also have right to remain silent

When the murderer who murdered the insurance executive was caught in Altoona, I was surprised when some on social media applauded the coward. I was even more surprised to read in the Mirror about a teacher in an area school district who basically had the same reaction to the murder of Charlie Kirk. Both murderers were celebrated on social media for their cowardly actions. And please, let’s not embarrass ourselves by using the freedom of speech card. This is clearly a moral issue. We may have the right to free speech, but we also have the right to remain silent. And when we call ...
