Nancy L. McConnell

Nancy L. McConnell, 68, Altoona, passed away Wednesday. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Gerald and Theresa (Ferraro) Weamer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; and a sister, Lynn Bupp. Surviving is a daughter, Nicole; stepsons: Brian, Darren and Christopher; nephew, Michael Bupp; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Nancy was a 1973 graduate of Altoona Area High School. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025, in the mausoleum chapel at Calvary Cemetery. Jessica Lynn Socie

Jessica Lynn Socie, 51, of Altoona, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Feb. 17, 2025. Jessica is survived by her mother, Merilyn Muhlbauer; father, Robert Socie Sr. (Linda); two sons, Adam Smith and Carl Lee Chaney; grandson, Tyler Smith; brother, Robert Socie Jr. (Michelle); two half brothers; two half sisters; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Matthew Charles Corwin

Matthew Charles Corwin, 49, Portage, died Monday. He was the son of Madeline Conrad and Lawrence Corwin. Surviving are his mother; his stepfather, Faber Conrad Sr.; and sisters: Charlotte Vitale, Susan Strashensky/Mata and Melinda Corwin. At 21, Matthew was the first graduate of IU8 at Penn Cambria High School. He continued to learn and grow at Skills in Cresson.
