Clara Marie Vena, 97, Portage, died Wednesday. She was born in Flora, Pa., daughter of the late Ellis and Gertrude (Nesaw) Foreman. Clara was also preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; siblings: Samuel, Ellis Jr., Charlotte, Geraldine, Robert, Charles, Bill, Jim and Peggy; and stepmother, Margaret. Charlene J. Wertz, 88, of Altoona, died Sunday afternoon at Colonial Courtyard, Tyrone. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Stephen and Dorothy (Stitt) Wagner. She married Donald Robert Wertz on June 7, 1957. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2021. Surviving is a son, Stephen Wertz, and best friend, Connie; a granddaughter, Heather Wertz; and a great-grandson, Chace. Joy K. Alt, 62, formerly of Altoona, the daughter of Lyle and Carole Rea, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 13, 2025. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bill Pepper and Pastor John Gross co-officiating. Leona L. Haag, 98, of Tyrone, and a resident of Graystone, Altoona, passed away Wednesday. She was born in Tyrone, a daughter of the late Leo Joseph and Rosa (Schoch) Long. At St. Matthew Catholic Church in Tyrone, she married Philip A. Haag, who preceded her in death on July 5, 2000.
