Charlene J. Wertz, 88, of Altoona, died Sunday afternoon at Colonial Courtyard, Tyrone. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Stephen and Dorothy (Stitt) Wagner. She married Donald Robert Wertz on June 7, 1957. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2021. Surviving is a son, Stephen Wertz, and best friend, Connie; a granddaughter, Heather Wertz; and a great-grandson, Chace. Joy K. Alt, 62, formerly of Altoona, the daughter of Lyle and Carole Rea, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 13, 2025. Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Myers-Somers Funeral Home Inc., 501 Sixth Ave., Altoona, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bill Pepper and Pastor John Gross co-officiating.
