Omer H. ‘Blackie’ Black

Omer H. “Blackie” Black, 97, Saxton, died Wednesday. He was the son of the late Forest and Nora (Levelle) Black. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; his daughter, Eugennie Treece; and his siblings. Surviving are his children: Omer Jr., Jodi Crooks and Brad Black; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Omer served in the U.S. Army from 1946-47 as a Corporal. He enjoyed boating, hunting and fishing — which he did up to his 96th birthday. Omer retired as superintendent of lines for Bedford County in 1986. Services will be private. Judy K. Horgas, 73, of Hollidaysburg, passed away Monday. Born in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Edward Joseph and Gertrude (Macker) Horgas. She was employed as a registered nurse at UPMC Altoona until her retirement. Judy enjoyed long walks, watching football, especially the Steelers, and was a dedicated nurse. Surviving is a sister Ella Moslak; nephews: Edward Kalke, Marty Kalke and Darrin Moslak; and a niece, Amber Couturiaux. Judy was preceded in death by her parents.
