Doris Lee Woodring, 85, formerly of Bellwood, died Thursday. She was born in Bellwood, a daughter of the late George and Lillian Stephens. Surviving are her children: Dorothy “Dottie” Shaffer, James and George Jr.; several grandchildren; and siblings: Dave, Elwood and Donald Stephens, Dot Crotsley, Linda Matlack and Pat Ellenberger. She was predeceased by her husband, George H.; and siblings: George Jr., Bob, Whitey and Ken Stephens; and daughter-in-law, Carol Woodring. There will be no funeral services. Arrangements by Jon C. Clair Ellis “Duke” Downs, 82, of Fallentimber, died Wednesday. He was born in Coalport, son of the late Charles and Sylvia (Gates) Downs. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Bouch; and siblings: Nancy Lidwell, Gary and Ken. Surviving are his wife, Irene; daughters, Billie Jo Downs and Elizabeth Zaffuto; grandchildren: Daniel Zaffuto, Matthew Sanders and Madison Downs; and siblings: Charles, Bob, John, Dave, Rick and Earl Downs and Ellen Ibberson. A memorial gathering will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are by McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.
