Sandra J. Bush, 81, of Antis Township, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, surrounded by her loving family at Maybrook Hills Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Altoona. She was born in Altoona, a daughter of the late Francis J. and Anna Mae (McIntyre) Schellhammer.
On Jan. 21, 1967, she married Raymond E. Bush at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellwood. He preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 2020.
Surviving are her three daughters: Lori (Scott) Clapper of Bellwood, Wendi (Terry) McCaulsky of Tipton and Christi J. (Bruce) Bush-Makin of Antis Township; five grandchildren: Brandon (Megan), Garret, Tyler (Cecelia), Chelsea and Leigha; an adopted grandson, Dylan Barr; and sisters: Shirley Waite of Summerville, S.C., Evelyn Crofcheck of Alexandria and Judy Stolz of Pittsburgh.
She was preceded in death by siblings: Robert, Richard, Francis Jr. “Butch,” Joyce, Mary Jane and Nancy Poorman.
Sandra retired as an optician at Walmart Vision Center, Altoona. She was a member of Logan Valley Baptist Church, Bellwood.
She liked baking and playing cards, especially Phase 10; was a fan of basketball and football; and loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Sandra’s greatest joy was the precious time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home Inc., Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Stan Gill officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
