Penn State will be represented in this summer’s The Basketball Tournament, the $1 million winner-take-all summer hoops event broadcast live on the FOX family of networks.

Organized by Nittany Lion alum John Harrar, the Hoopers are a third-year alumni team that will take their shot again this season. The current roster includes alum Andrew Funk (2022-23), Dallion Johnson (2020-23), Greg Lee (2021-22), John Harrar (2017-22), Izaiah Brockington (2019-21), Myreon Jones (2018-21), Jamari Wheeler (2017-21), Trent Buttrick (2017-21), Curtis Jones (2019-20) and Mike Watkins (2016-20). Additional players will be added at a later date.

The Hoopers, the top seed in their region, will play in the James Madison Regional at the Atlantic Union Bank Center from July 18-22. The winner of the James Madison Regional will play the winner of the West Virginia Regional in the quarterfinals on Monday, July 28, at 9 p.m. on FS2. The semifinals and $1 million winner-take-all championship game will be July 31 and Aug. 3, respectively.
