Carl Wayne Shultz

Carl Wayne Shultz, 79, Williamsburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday evening at his home. He was born in Roaring Spring, son of the late Carl A. and Mary E. “Betty” (Price) Shultz.
On Nov. 25, 1961, he married Shirley Jean Updyke at Cove Forge United Methodist Church, rural Williamsburg. She preceded him in death on Jan. 16, 2020, after 58 years of marriage.
Surviving are three children: Sharon A. Burns (Timothy Snare), of Piney Ridge, Carl Douglas Shultz and Troy A. Shultz (Teresa), both of Williamsburg; a son-in-law, Lee Everts, in Maryland; eight grandchildren: Ashlee Shultz, Randi Farringer, Briana Beck, Cody Quarry, Tiffani Rupert, Jordyn Shultz, Wade Shultz and Ridge Shultz; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lori Jean Everts; a son, Jeffrey Wayne Shultz; a sister, Norma Jean Shultz; and an infant brother, Charles “Buddy” Shultz.
Wayne was a 1961 graduate of Williamsburg High School and went on to complete auctioneering school in Ohio. His passion in life was working as an auctioneer and he would travel to find the best antique items. Wayne also took great pride in the work he did on his farm.
He was a member of Cove Forge United Methodist Church, rural Williamsburg.
Wayne loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and eating at restaurants with family.
Friends will be received from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2023, at Williamsburg Christian Alliance Church, where a funeral service will begin at 6 p.m., with Pastor Paul Campbell officiating. Private interment will be held at Presbyterian Cemetery, Williamsburg.
