Robert H. Mallow

Robert H. Mallow, 82, Altoona, died peacefully Thursday at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Altoona, son of the late George D. and Esther M. (Burket) Mallow. He married Mary Jo Hanlon on March 2, 1957, in Cumberland, Md., and she preceded him in death on April 27, 2010.

Surviving are six children: Laurie A. McAndrew (Mike), Lori J. McCloskey (Steve), Patricia L. Jurcik (Dennis), Susan R. Kimberly (Matthew) and David L. (Tammie), all of Altoona, and Beth A. Brougham (Chris) of Delaware, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Robert was a 1950 graduate of Altoona High School and served two years in the 3rd Armored Cavalry during the Korean War. He retired as owner of Mallows Service Center Inc. He was a life member of Riggles Gap Sportsmen’s Club and Juniata American Legion.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home Inc., Juniata, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2015, the Rev. Carol Gathagan officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery.
