Yazid Davis

From Mirror staff reports

Two Philadelphia men and a city woman were taken into custody after a traffic stop along I-99 led state police to discover a large amount of fentanyl in their vehicle.

Yusuf Aziz Ali Davis, 34, Yazid Ebin Omar A. Davis, 32, both of Philadelphia, and Anastasia Chant O’Blenes, 26, of Altoona, were arraigned Tuesday by Magisterial District Judge Daniel C. DeAntonio. Yusuf Davis, Yazid Davis and O’Blenes were remanded to the Blair County Prison in lieu of $75,000, $100,000 and $50,000 bail, respectively.

State police at Hollidaysburg and Altoona police were traveling north on I-99 near Greenfield Township, Blair County about 10:46 p.m. on Monday when they ran the registration of a Chevrolet Malibu. The search showed the vehicle’s registration was suspended due to insurance cancellation, according to the affidavit of probable cause.

Officers initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle and found the driver to be Yusuf Davis, the front seat passenger to be Yazid Davis and the back seat passenger to be Anastasia O’Blenes. Officers discovered Yazid Davis had an active warrant through state parole while O’Blenes had an active arrest warrant through Blair County, the police report states.

When O’Blenes exited the vehicle, officers reported seeing two pieces of burnt foil fall from her person. They also noted the strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle, the report states.

APD’s K-9 officer was then deployed on the Malibu and alerted officers to the presence of a controlled substance at the front passenger-side door. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a small amount of marijuana, 174 stamp bags of suspected fentanyl and a large amount of unused stamp bags meant to package fentanyl. An orange pistol was also located within the vehicle’s center console, according to the affidavit.

A search of Yazid Davis’ criminal history showed he is a felon not to possess a firearm as he pled guilty to robbery in 2012 and simple assault and possession of a firearm prohibited in 2013, police reported.

Yusuf Davis told officers he drove from Philadelphia on Sunday and picked up Yazid Davis and O’Blenes to go back to Philadelphia.

O’Blenes said Yazid Davis promised her drugs if she went with him to Philadelphia. A search of Yusuf Davis through PennDOT showed he was driving with a suspended license, the report states.

O'Blenes

O’Blenes was charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver and single misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Yazid Davis faces single felony counts of possession with intent to deliver, possession of a firearm prohibited and firearms not to be carried without a license, as well as single misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
