Reservoir Road delays possible

Drivers can expect minor delays on Reservoir Road between Route 22 and Loop Road in Frankstown Township between Monday, April 27, and Wednesday, April 29.

There will be lane restrictions and short delays on Reservoir Road during daylight hours, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, April 27, for sign installation, and on Wednesday, April 29, for seeding and mulching.

Lengthy delays continue in Williamsburg

PennDOT said lane restrictions and lengthy delays will continue on High Street and Piney Creek Road in Williamsburg Borough and Woodbury Township from Monday, April 27, to Friday, May 1.

Drivers can expect lane restrictions and delays up to 15 minutes on High Street and Piney Creek Road during daylight hours as crews continue drainage and impact basin installation along the route.

Logan Boulevard work continues

Drivers may find lane restrictions and short delays on Route 36 (Logan Boulevard) in Blair County on Monday, April 27, as a resurfacing and drainage project continues.

Lane restrictions will be on both northbound and southbound Route 36 (Logan Boulevard) as work continues on pipe culvert replacements in Frankstown and Allegheny townships from Monday, April 27, to Friday, May 8. The work and schedule are weather dependent.

New Enterprise Stone & Lime, New Enterprise, is the lead contractor for the 3.5-mile, $5.4 million project, which includes pavement resurfacing, drainage work, guide rail and sign upgrades on Route 36 (Logan Boulevard) from U.S. 22 (Blair Street) in Hollidaysburg Borough to Route 1001 (Plank Road) in Altoona. The project is scheduled for completion in early October.

Speed board placed on Route 322

PennDOT placed a radar-controlled speed display board on Route 322 near State College to remind drivers to obey the posted speed limit and reduce speeding, a common type of aggressive driving behavior.

This board faces westbound traffic one mile before the State College/Route 26 exit in a 55 mile per hour zone. The board uses radar to determine the speeds of oncoming traffic and posts them to the lighted section of the sign. The board will remain in place until this fall.

Speeding and other aggressive driving behaviors are among the leading causes of Pennsylvania crashes and fatalities. Other aggressive driving behaviors include running stop signs or red lights, passing illegally and tailgating.

In 2024, there were 5,897 aggressive driving crashes across the state, resulting in 106 fatalities and 405 suspected serious injuries.

William Penn Highway work planned

There will be long-term lane restrictions and minor delays on William Penn Highway from the Route 164 Munster-Portage Exit to the Route 53 Cresson-Lilly Exit in Cambria County from Monday, April 27, through Friday, May 8, as a resurfacing and bridge rehabilitation project continues.

Drivers can expect minor delays of three to five minutes on U.S. 22 in Munster and Cresson townships with single-lane restrictions (closure of the left passing lane) in both the eastbound and westbound lanes from the Route 164 Munster-Portage Exit to the Route 53 Cresson-Lilly Exit.

Contractors will be applying latex modified concrete on the U.S. 22 bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad, requiring the left passing lane to be closed. Work will also continue on Route 53 (West Second Street) bridge over U.S. 22.

Grannas Bros. Stone & Asphalt Co. Inc., Hollidaysburg, is the lead contractor for the $11.6 million project, which includes pavement resurfacing, guide rail upgrades, drainage maintenance and rehabilitation of both the bridge carrying Route 53 (West Second Street) over U.S. 22 and the bridge over Norfolk Southern Railroad. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-November.
