Bedford man faces more than 250 child porn counts

A Bedford man faces more than 250 charges after a lengthy investigation into three complaints made by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding child exploitation.

Jacob Christen Clark, 33, was arraigned Thursday before Magisterial District Judge Tonya M. Osman on 268 felony counts of child pornography and one felony count of criminal use of a communication facility.

Unable to post $250,000 bail, he was remanded to the Blair County Prison. His preliminary hearing is set for May 13 in Bedford County Central Court.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, agents with the state Office of Attorney General received information about the cybertip on Feb. 5, 2025.

The tip came from Snapchat, which reported that three sexually explicit child sexual abuse material files were saved, shared or uploaded by a user.

Over the next several months, the investigation turned up the user name and information as well as suspected child sexual abuse material, including photographs, the affidavit of probable cause states.

On Thursday, the investigation culminated with a search warrant being executed at 6:22 a.m. on Clark’s home on the 100 block of Astor Road, Bedford. During the search, agents from the AG’s office were joined by the Bedford County Drug Task Force and state police.

In an interview with law enforcement, Clark provided his email and social media accounts, which matched the accounts associated with the cybertips, the report states.

Clark allegedly admitted to viewing pornography, including child pornography, which law enforcement now call child sexual abuse material, according to the affidavit.

In addition, Clark allegedly told law enforcement officers that he knows viewing child sexual abuse material is wrong and had a feeling that police investigating him would happen one day.

The investigator reported that at least 268 files of child sexual abuse materal were located on electronic devices owned by Clark. The material depicted children under the age of 18 engaging in sexual acts or simulating acts. In addition, some files depict indecent contact and/or children under the age of 10 or children who are prepubescent, the report states.
