More than 400 illegal gambling devices seized by state attorney general
More than 400 illegal gambling devices have been seized from dozens of western Pennsylvania establishments and the two companies operating the machines have been charged, announced Attorney General Dave Sunday.
The Office of Attorney General filed felony corrupt organizations charges against Buffalo Skills Games Inc. and J.J. Amusement Inc.
According to a news release, the companies are owned and operated by John F. Conley, who has prior federal convictions for illegal gambling.
State police assisted Gaming Enforcement agents in a series of seizures in March at bars, gas stations and convenience stores in Cambria County, as well as in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Crawford, Indiana, Somerset, Venango, Erie, Washington, Armstrong and Westmoreland counties, the AG’s office said.
“These devices were essentially slot machines dressed up as skill games,” Sunday said.
This case is being prosecuted by the AG’s Gaming Enforcement Section.
