Stoltz announces bid for magisterial judge

Kevin Stoltz, Army veteran, firearms instructor, small business owner and long-time UPS employee, has announced his intent to run for the position of magisterial district judge in northern Blair County. The position was vacated by Judge Fred Miller upon his election to a seat on the Court of Common Pleas.
The 46-year-old Stoltz said, “I am running for judge because I believe it is important, now more than ever, to find strong leaders with a common sense approach who have a passion to serve, uphold the law and listen to the people who enter their courtroom.”
“Magistrates make decisions that affect the lives of many people,” he said. “The community needs someone who will make good decisions based on their common sense. I believe I have the necessary skills to adjust quickly, be effective immediately and bring leadership and commitment upon taking the bench.”
Stoltz, who served in the U.S. Army National Guard, cites his life experiences as a driving force in consideration of his run for political office.
“Everything in my life has given me the skills to put me in the courtroom,” he said. “Whether it was my days leading the high school football team (Bellwood quarterback, 1996) to my career in the military or as a long-time employee of UPS to being a small business owner or a firearms instructor, I have learned leading by example, teamwork, relationship building, discipline, respect, integrity, tenacity and servant leadership.”
A native of Bellwood, Stoltz entered the military shortly after graduation from high school. He then gained employment at UPS, where he has stayed for the past 28 years. In addition, he runs a small business serving as a firearms instructor.
“I plan to approach this position as I have approached everything in my life,” Stoltz said. “With the promise to give 150%, to listen, to learn, to care and to lead well and honorably. I demand that of myself and I would expect the citizens of the magisterial district to require that of me, as well.”
Stoltz and his wife, Julia, live in Bellwood. He is the father of two daughters.
