Cambria’s district attorney Neugebauer to run for judge

Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer has announced that he is running for Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Cambria County.

Since first joining the District Attorney’s Office in 2016, Neugebauer said he has leveraged relationships forged with local, state and federal law enforcement partners to ensure that valuable resources are available and used for the betterment of the community.

“I have worked on thousands of cases to ensure that murderers are brought to justice, drug dealers are taken off of our streets, and that our neighborhoods are places where our children and fellow citizens can live, work, and play in comfort and safety. I have dedicated my professional life to seeking justice for all,” Neugebauer said in a statement. “As district attorney, I have made many decisions that affect the lives of those touched by crime and who come into contact with the criminal justice system, and I have never made a decision based on bias or prejudice, rather on the facts and applicable law to each unique case.

Prior to serving as district attorney, Neugebauer worked on a wide range of matters in private legal practice, including divorces, custody matters, landlord tenant disputes, personal injury cases, estates, trusts, adoptions, elder law, real estate transfers and property line disputes, among other areas.

“I represented clients in an ethical manner, always sought to do the right thing for the right reasons, and upheld the value and integrity of the law. Regardless of the background of a victim or client, I treat everyone with dignity and respect, and ensure that they have the fair day in court that our Constitution demands,” Neugebauer said.

Neugebauer serves on the board of the Circle of Support Child Advocacy Center, ensuring that child victims and witnesses have a safe and professional place to tell their stories and get the services and justice that they deserve. He also serves on the board of the Cambria County Backpack Project, ensuring that youth don’t go hungry when away from school; coaches Little League baseball and supports many other causes, including the annual Shop with A Cop events.

“Our next judge must have experience in, and an understanding of, the many different areas of the law that may come before them. I have that experience, and that makes me uniquely qualified to effectively serve on the bench from day one,” Neugebauer said.
