Discovery to air show on city native’s murder
ID Investigation Discovery network will air a documentary on the murder of Altoona native Amanda Schmitt Grazioli at 9 tonight as part of its “American Monster” series.
In April, John P. Grazioli was sentenced by an Erie County judge to life in prison without parole for the first-degree murder of his wife, Amanda, a 2004 Altoona Area High School graduate.
Grazioli shot Amanda in the head. He claimed it was an accident.
In a letter to Amanda’s father, Iain Pelling, managing director, Arrow International Media Limited, said, “The documentary includes a unique combination of home video footage, news archive, personal accounts, drama reconstruction and other material supplied by the police to tell the story that led to Amanda’s tragic death and the subsequent police investigation.”
Investigation Discovery is channel 77 on Atlantic Broadband’s local lineup.
