AASD offers summer food program The Altoona Area School District will operate its annual Summer Food Service Program beginning Wednesday, June 10, and running through Friday, July 31, at the Altoona Area Junior High School and the Juniata and Pleasant Valley elementary schools. Altoona police arrest juveniles allegedly involved in assault

Altoona police have filed charges against several juveniles and adults after an investigation into a May 18 assault in the city. According to an Altoona Police Department press release, the assault involved multiple juveniles and resulted in the June 2 arrest of a 13-year-old boy. He was charged with criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, riot, simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.
