EMG Brands to reveal new business venture
Renovated office site launches grand opening
TYRONE — EMG Brands will officially announce the launch of a new national business venture during a grand opening of EMG’s newly renovated offices from 5 to 7 p.m. June 27 at 1010-1014 Pennsylvania Ave.
After a short time, InspectionGo, the creation of EMG CEO John Russell and Chad Hett, owner of the Elite Group Property Inspections, the largest home inspection company in North America, is being recognized as a trusted brand in home inspection.
InspectionGo is designed to ease scheduling, offer in-depth inspection reports and warranties, allowing potential home buyers to have a consistent home inspection experience. InspectionGo also gives inspection companies serving their local community the resources and benefits of a national brand while simultaneously allowing them to stay in control of their businesses.
Since relocating EMG Brands to Tyrone three years ago, John Russell and his brother, Will Russell, CFO of EMG Brands, have committed to adaptive reuse of abandoned properties in Tyrone. The building at 1010 Pennsylvania Ave. now will be home to the leadership team, and accounting department, with the entire first floor dedicated to an employee lounge. The building at 1014 Pennsylvania Ave. houses a call center, marketing department and multiple meeting rooms.
Before the Russell brothers purchased the buildings, they were abandoned, vandalized and crumbling. The brothers teamed up with Altoona Blair County Development Corp. to keep the historically, industrial aesthetic of the more than 100 years old buildings as they invested $1.5 million to update more than 10,000 square feet of space for a modern workforce.
“ABCD Corporation was pleased to play a part in the overall financing of EMG’s development and job creation,” said CEO/President Stephen McKnight in a statement. “John, Will and the whole team at EMG represent the critical next-generation leadership and investment we need here in the First Frontier Blair County. Through their diverse company holdings, they are helping to define our future economy for the years to come.”
John Russell and McKnight will speak at
6 p.m. before a ribbon cutting. The event will include a tour of the building, along with refreshments from EMG Brands new local restaurant venture expected to open late in July.
EMG Brands has become an anchor in Tyrone and will continue to have an impact in Central Pennsylvania through business investments as a holding company. EMG Brands owns and supports a wide range of business with its 362 employees, including Wireless Zone, Power House Subs, Portfolio Salon, Green Home Solutions True Enviro and Elite Group Property Inspections.
During the last six months, EMG Brands has added an average of eight jobs per month to its Tyrone headquarters, pushing the total jobs created since moving to Tyrone to 75. EMG Brands expects the hiring trend to continue in the area with the addition of a national, expanding brand like InspectionGo.
EMG Brands is committed to serving the community through outreach programs including, the annual local BackPack GiveAway and the Tyrone Youth Athletic Association.
EMG Brands has brought wonderful energy and life to the community since its entry, said Rose Black, executive director of the Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce.
“It’s nice to see so many young people driving to Tyrone to work and out and about on the streets supporting local businesses, not to mention all the investments they have made in so many of the vacant buildings. To drive through town at night and see them all light up is such a boost to the town and sends out such a welcoming tone to visitors,” Black said.
