Bedford third in ACM Tristate Math Contest Allegany College of Maryland and the LaVale Lions Club hosted the annual Tristate Math Contest on Tuesday, March 24, with teams competing from Maryland and Pennsylvania. Penn West California students part of ‘Into the Woods’ Two area students were involved in the production of Stephen Sondheim’s “Into the Woods” April 17-19 at PennWest California. Peyton Reese of Clearfield, a theater-design and entertainment technology student, performed the role of costume designer on the production crew. Blair Garden Club awards scholarships

The Blair Garden club has awarded two $1,000 scholarships to Blair County seniors whose career plans reflect the values and beliefs of the organization. The 2026 recipients are Ty Uplinger from Williamsburg Community and Norah Bechtel from Central High School. Uplinger is active in FFA and won the county land judging contest for the past two years and placed second as he advanced to the state competition. Bake sale supports Mom’s House JOHNSTOWN — Members of Pennsylvania Highlands Community College’s Supporting Scholars recently hosted a St. Patrick’s Day bake sale, with all proceeds going to Mom’s House Inc. of Johnstown.
