HAWCfood drive begins Monday

The GFWC Hollidaysburg Area Women’s Club will sponsor a drive-up food drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25, in the Hewitt Street parking lot of the Hollidaysburg Area Junior High School. Volunteers will be available to collect non-perishable food items, hygiene products and cleaning supplies from community members’ vehicles. GFWC HAWC volunteers will also be collecting the above items at the Hollidaysburg Hometown Market on the same day from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Cash donations are also welcome. Jean Wohlbruck (Mary Regina Schachtner) of Altoona will celebrate her 100th birthday on Friday. She was born April 3, 1926, in Altoona, the daughter of Florence Watson and Francis Schachtner. She was married to Paul Wohlbruck for 25 years, before he passed. Jean has one daughter, Melody McLaughlin of Altoona; one grandson, Andrew McLaughlin; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She retired from United Food and enjoyed golf and playing cards.
