East Broad Top archivist to speak at railroad museum

The Railroaders Memorial Museum will host its fourth guest speaker Friday, May 8, as part of its “Along the Broadway: Historical Lecture Series in 2026.”

Julie Fether, archivist at the East Broad Top Railroad, will speak on “Celebrating five years of EBT Archives & Special Collections.” Guests will learn about the EBT’s 5,000 linear feet of archives and see some items from their collections.

The lecture, held in the Seidel Auditorium on the first floor, starts at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m. Admission is $5; seating is limited. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase.

Tickets can be purchased at the door, through the website, or on the Museum’s Facebook page. All proceeds benefit the Museum’s Curatorial Department.

“The East Broad Top Railroad is a narrow gauge railroad that has a deep rich history in the area. The collection keeps that story alive and Julie Fether is the one that is making that happen,” said Matthew Wolff, the museum’s archivist.

Documents, paperwork, books and maps are just a few of the items EBT has in their archives to preserve the history of the EBT Railroad, Wolff said, adding the lecture allows those who attend to learn about the preservation of that history.

Starting at $2.99/week.
