Renee L. Anderson, 61, passed away Monday at home in East Freedom surrounded by her wife, Oona (Shaw) Anderson, and other loved ones, after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer. Born in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of Larry and Linda (Fleck) Anderson, of Burnt Cabins. She was a light to everyone she touched.
She was a 1981 graduate of Southern Huntingdon High School and went on to graduate from The Art Institute of Philadelphia in 1985.
Renee was previously employed at Blair County Community Action Program as an SSI/SSDI Representative Payee in Altoona. Prior to that, she worked as a quality control coordinator for Ventura Foods in Chambersburg for 11 years.
Renee’s true passion was art. She loved painting with watercolors and had recently mastered colored pencils.
Surviving are her wife, Oona; her parents, Larry and Linda; fur babies, Chloe and Civic; her two brothers, Aaron (Tammy) of Ft. Loudon and Justin (Brenda) of St. Thomas; many uncles and aunts; a multitude of nieces of nephews; and too many friends that were “family” to mention.
The family will receive friends from noon until the 1 p.m. service Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Agett-Lakjer
Funeral Home, 16715 Path Valley Road, Spring Run, with Pastor Matthew Robinson officiating.
