The Nov. 25 ice storm and power failure of 1950 made the top of the list for the Altoona Mirror’s top 10 stories of Blair County for 1950. The power was out for nearly two weeks. Damage can be seen in these photos, along with children and their sleds. These photos were taken near Frankstown Road and the Park Hills areas of Altoona and were featured in a special booklet printed by the Altoona Mirror.
