Glendale golf outing raises $12,500

CURWENSVILLE — Director Richard Snyder has announced the winners of the 15th annual Glendale Education Foundation Golf Tournament fundraiser held June 7 at Eagles Ridge Golf Club.

With a score of 55, the foursome of Rich Metzger, Justin Ohler, Mark Emery and Curt Melton finished first, defeating the second-place team of Rick Holes, Dan Holes, Bucky Miller and Brett Miller, which shot a 58.

Proximity winners were:

Long drives — Austin Tiesi (Fairway No. 1) and Mat Rhodes (Fairway No. 10).

Longest putts — Red Gondek (Hole No. 3), Bill Moyer (Hole No. 7) and Justin Ohler (Hole No. 16).

Closest to the pin — Danny Dotts (Hole No. 17).

Closest second shot — Rob Burmeister (Hole No. 9) and Martin Kyper (Hole No. 11).

Vance Kimberly was named “Best Dressed Golfer.”

The foundation net total was $12,500 in proceeds, thanks to the generosity of the 92 players and 117 sponsors who contributed.

“As our largest annual fundraiser,” Snyder said, “proceeds from this community golf event sets us up to nearly fund an entire school years’ worth of budgeted allocations, awards, grants and scholarships to enhance the learning opportunities for Glendale School District children.”
