Ralph and Dorothy Hoover
Ralph “Glenn” Hoover, son of Ralph and Anna Hoover, and Dorothy June “Dottie” Cremer, daughter of William and Myrtle Cremer, were married Feb. 26, 1966, in Greenville, Pa.
They were united in marriage by the Rev. Robert K. Nace, who had been a special friend of theirs when he was the pastor at the Abbey Reformed Church in Huntingdon.
Best man was John Swigart, and matron of honor was Dottie’s sister, Betty Nye.
Glenn is a graduate of Penn State University. As a mechanical engineer, Glenn worked at Huntingdon Machine Co. and Baxter Machine Products and as a substitute at Huntingdon County Career & Technology Center.
Dottie is a graduate of Juniata College, Huntingdon. Dottie taught English, speech and journalism at Huntingdon Area High School. Dottie served as Language Arts Department Chair at HAHS. She later became the supervising teacher of the Huntingdon County Alternative Program, where she finished her career with math and science teacher, Paul Brumbaugh.
Glenn and Dottie’s family includes daughter Noelle (Hoover) Felipe and her husband Mauro “Moe”; daughter Felicia (Hoover) Lingafelt and her husband Brian; son Clayton Hoover and his wife Annachristine; and daughter Dr. Heather Hoover.
Their grandchildren are Britani June (Lingafelt) Suchwala and her husband Hunter; Brianna Louise (Lingafelt) Trowbridge and her husband Garrett; Hunter Glenn Lingafelt; Christianna Camille Hoover; Alessandra Celeste Hoover; and Clayton Jude “C.J.” Hoover.
Glenn and Dottie celebrated their anniversary with an elegant dinner in a private dining room in The Carnegie House, served by Grace Restaurant, at Toftrees in State College. The private family event was planned by their children and grandchildren.
As devout Christians, Glenn and Dottie are blessed with close brothers and sisters in Christ throughout Pennsylvania.
Glenn and Dottie are grateful for not only 60 years of marriage, but also their receipt of nearly 60 cards sent by friends, family, former students, former coworkers and neighbors.
