PSU receiver in the portal In a move that was not a surprise after Friday’s news that he had been away from the team all week, Penn State wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith announced on Monday he was entering the transfer portal. Lambert-Smith was a huge part of the passing game early in the season, but was largely phased out in the last few games after offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich was fired after the Michigan game. For the 2023 season, Lambert-Smith had 53 catches for 673 yards and four TDs. Lambert-Smith was nowhere to be found at Saturday’s Blue-White Game, and coach ...

It’s not much of a secret, but it needs to be addressed in the spring. The Blue-White Game is a scrimmage. Nothing more, nothing less. Seriously. There will probably be just as many people inside Beaver Stadium as there will be tailgating in the parking lots. But nonetheless, there will be football played in State College today, and it’s another chance to see what’s coming next season. ...

New OC, Allar work to gain comfort

By Andy Stine astine@altoonamirror.com Looking at the statistics from his 2023 season, PSU quarterback Drew Allar had as good of a year as most programs could only dream of for a first-year starter. As a true sophomore, Allar threw 25 touchdowns and just two interceptions. His first pick didn’t happen until the eighth game of the season against Indiana. The problem was the offense that was on display most of the season largely disappeared against the top two Big Ten opponents in Michigan and Ohio State, which ultimately cost offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich his job. Now ...
