Robert W. McCutcheon

Robert W. McCutcheon, 79, of Altoona, passed away Saturday morning at his residence. He was born in Phillipsburg, the son of the late Robert and Vivian (Williams) McCutcheon. Robert married Jane A. Freet on June 21, 1984. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years; and his four daughters: Lorri Baldwin, Kelly Conrad, Valerie McCaulley and Nicole Ford. Robert was the owner and operator of Apple Motors. He enjoyed cars, guns, politics and dogs. There will be no visitation or services. Arrangements are provided by The Stevens Mortuary Inc., Altoona.

Sherman George Scott Jr.

Sherman George Scott Jr., 90, of Tyrone, formerly of Blandburg, died Tuesday at UPMC Altoona. He was born in Blandburg, a son of the late Sherman G. and Alice M. (Firmstone) Scott. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; his parents; a son, Sherman Scott; and two sisters, Minerva Duke and Sally Gustafson. Surviving are sons, James and R. Lynn Scott; grandchildren: Ryan, Christopher, Justin and Kaitlin; great-grand­children, Chloe and Lochlann; and a sister, Theresa Bougher. Michael A. ‘Mickey’ Caputo

Michael A. “Mickey” Caputo, 87, Altoona, passed away Monday after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Altoona, son of the late Daniel and Nancy (Amedo) Caputo. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Barb; sons, Michael and Mark; a daughter, Carrie Bullock; five grandchildren: Mackenzie Bullock, Ryan Caputo, Shannon Recchia, Gianna Caputo and Nicole Caputo; and four great-grandchildren: Luca, Declan, Giovanni and Vivianna. A private visitation and interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by Santella Funeral Home.

Kenneth ‘Mike’ Lashley

Kenneth “Mike” Lashley, 67, of Ebensburg, died Tuesday after battling salmonella poisoning. He was born in Bedford, son of the late Kenneth and Constance (Hershberger) Lashley. Surviving are his wife, Maxine; daughter, Marissa; grandsons: Christopher, Matthew and Isaac; and siblings, Richard Lashley and Cheryl Novotny. Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting, car racing and spending time with his grandsons. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Ebensburg United Church of Christ (Congregational). Arrangements by Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Ebensburg.

Thomas Earl McKinley

Thomas Earl McKinley, 78, of Avon, Ohio, formerly of Altoona, passed away June 22, 2025. He was born and raised in Altoona and graduated from Altoona High School, Class of 1964. Surviving are his wife, Rita; daughters, Tracy (Brian) Swayne and Kristin (Rick) Barrett; daughter-in-law, Kellie McKinley; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Marie McKinley; and son, Michael McKinley. Thomas retired as Vice President of Systems Programming at Key Bank. He enjoyed vacationing at the beach. Private services were held in Ohio.
