YORK HAVEN -- Cameron Smith charged from his eighth starting position to claim York Excavating Kevin Gobrecht Classic at the BAPS Motor Speedway.
Troy Wagaman Jr. came home second, while Chase Dietz rounded out the podium with a third-place finish.
The Super Sportsman competition saw Matt Ondek battle Jordan Givler before taking over the top spot and driving away to his fifth career Super Sportsman victory. Givler finished a strong second, with Scott Dellinger crossing the line in third.
The "Crown Vics" made their debut at the speedway and provided plenty of action. Brady Chabol picked up his first career victory, while Jimmy Swank charged through the field from the 14th starting position to finish second.
Williams Grove
MECHANICSBURG -- Chase Dietz captured the 410 sprint car feature on Friday night at the Williams Grove Speedway, collecting $6,000 in the Kevin Gobrecht Classic Challenge and possibly setting up a $,3000 bonus.
In other action, the Dirty Deeds 25 for the 358 sprints went to Andy Best.
Hidden Valley
CLEARFIELD -- Dave Shagla picked up the Econo Modified Special held Saturday afternoon at the Hidden Valley Speedway while Greg Kiehl claimed the Little's Drive-In Four Cylinder main.
Exactly 20 cars -- 11 Four Cylinders and 9 E-Mods -- made the rescheduled event. In other action, Greg Kiehl won the King of the Hill for the Four Cylinders over Allen Robison.
Hummingbird
REYNOLDSVILLE -- It was the end of an era Saturday night at the Hummingbird Speedway as the track held its final event with the running of the Dave Srock Memorial.
The track will not reopen next season and it is also for sale.
Srock was a longtime racer in the region whose name and legacy are still remembered within the local racing community today. The Srock Contracting Late Models took center stage with a $4,000/win, $600/start special. Semi-late models were permitted to run with the Super Lates with the top 5 finishing Semi-lates splitting a $1,000 bonus.
There was a $250 Fast Time Award that was given to the fastest driver in time trials which was Kenny Schaffer.
There was a $500/win King of the Hill run for the Late Models with the Jon Lee coming out on top. Alongside the Late Model special were three other specials including $1,215/win Pure Stocks, $1,000/win Four-Cylinders, and $800/win Pro Stocks. Josh Fields made it a perfect 6 for 6 as he took the checkers in the Pure Stock special, capping off a dominant season in which he won all six races run at the track.
Unfortunately, Mother Nature arrived during the first couple laps of the Late Model special which forced the cancellation of the three remaining specials.
Path Valley
SPRING RUN -- Cole Dewease had a 12th-place starting spot in the P.A.S.S. 305 Sprint feature event lineup Saturday night at the Path Valley Speedway, yet his car appeared in the top five runners by the conclusion of lap 5.
Dewease attained the lead through all the racing action, then he claimed the checkered flag ahead of Tyler Schell, Doug Dodson, Mikell McGee and Chris Meleason. Meleason had the best lap, racing at 77.042 MPH in 11.682 seconds. Dewease, had a best time of 11.785 seconds. Jeff Weaver, Jaxon Radabaugh, Mike Alleman and Mikell McGee were the winners of the heat events
The Dr. Zachary D. Crouse DVM Inc. Late Models had a full roster of 24 racers, ready for racing action to claim the $1,200. Treyton Lee claimed the prize and ran his best lap in 12.634 seconds. Devin Frey received the Hard Charger Award.
The Macri Concrete 600 Sprints had the racer of Dylan Anderson pull to the first lap lead, with Jason Sechrist, Jim Young, Heath Walton and Vincent Gaudiosi in the top five, where they held their positions for the entire race. That was until two laps remained when a caution for Kevin Connor and Ben Irvin was shown with both racers calling it a night.
Anderson led the racers on the restart, taking a green to a checkered win.
The T.A. Ward Construction 270 Micro Sprints feature event began with pre-lap cautions, before Cory Myers claimed the win.
