Elizabeth Patricia (Morris) Griffith, born Sept. 27, 1929, in Passaic, New Jersey, passed away on Nov. 3, 2026, at 97. In 1970, Pat made her home in Altoona, where she became a beloved presence to her family and community.
Pat graduated in 1948 from Pope Pius High School in Passaic, New Jersey, and she was the captain of the cheerleaders during her high school years. When canvassing her high school yearbook, she often remembered many of her former classmates as being swell girls. She will be remembered for her dry humor, devotion to family, and perseverance in the face of adversity.
Her life was guided by her faith, and she was dedicated to living a life with Christ through Catholicism. Later in life, Pat enjoyed socializing with friends new and old and she cherished the connections she built and kept over the years. She looked forward to spending social time playing bingo and conversing with close friends over coffee.
Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, who passed away in 1990; by her son, Charles David, who passed away in 2024; and by her sister, Annie Laurie, who passed away in 1979. She is survived by two sons, William and Thomas; two sisters, Jean Peters and Geraldine Lyons; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren, along with many other close family and friends.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, at The Stevens Mortuary Inc., 1421 Eighth Ave., Altoona.
Interment will be held in Clifton, New Jersey. Condolences may be made at www.stevensfamilyfuneralhomes.com or Stevens Family Funeral Homes Facebook.
