Howard ‘Jim’ Beldin

Howard “Jim” Beldin, 66, Chesterfield, Va., passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2014.

He was born in Ashville, son of Adelaide Beldin and the late John E. Beldin.

Surviving are four daughters: Jeanette Beldin, Christine Wetherbee and husband, Jeff, Elaine Ward and husband, Shawn, and Cheryl Zeh and husband, Jason; nine grandchildren: T.J., Jonathan, Cliff, Will, Emily, Jacob, Emma, Luke and Allison; his mother; a brother, Kenneth and wife, Shirley; a sister, Dianne Kaczor and husband, Joseph; a special friend, Donna Freeman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim retired from AT&T after 30 years of service. He volunteered at the Petersburg National Battlefield for six years and before that had served as an auxiliary police officer in Suffolk, Va.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 159 Hickory St., Ashville. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Coupon.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Petersburg National Battlefield, 5001 Siege Road, Petersburg, VA 23875.
