Judge extends block on mail ballot order
A federal judge on Friday extended her prohibition against the U.S. Postal Service implementing President Donald Trump's executive order seeking to limit mail voting during the midterms.
The decision from U.S. District Court Judge Indira Talwani in Boston to issue a preliminary injunction replaces a temporary order she had granted blocking the Postal Service's plan until Sept. 10.

ICE officer pleads not guilty to lying to FBI
McALLEN -- A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer was ordered released from federal custody Friday after pleading not guilty to lying to investigators about the circumstances that led to the shooting of a Venezuelan man during the Minnesota immigration crackdown last winter.
The federal indictment accuses Christian Castro of falsely telling investigators that he was attacked with a broom and shovel before he opened fire, injuring Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis in January.

Army to resume exercises with US
PHNOM PENH -- Cambodia's army announced Friday that it will resume joint military exercises with the United States early next year after they had been suspended for almost a decade.
The announcement on the Facebook page of the Royal Cambodian Army came after several recent meetings of the countries' top defense and other officials intended to patch up rocky relations.

Prosecutors indict Tate on trafficking minors
BUCHAREST -- Romanian prosecutors on Friday indicted social media influencer Andrew Tate on charges of trafficking minors, sex with a minor, and money laundering.
Tate, 39, and his brother Tristan Tate, 38, were first arrested in Romania's capital, Bucharest, in late 2022. Tristan is indicted with complicity in the case.
