McConnell to continue recovery at home
WASHINGTON -- Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky says he's been discharged from a rehabilitation center and will continue his recovery from home.
McConnell gave no specific date for his return to the Capitol, but senators are expected to soon leave Washington for the traditional August recess.

Court orders Meta to pay $567M
SANTA FE -- A New Mexico court has ordered Instagram and Facebook parent company Meta to pay $567 million to address harms to young people from its platforms. The order came late Thursday in the second phase of a landmark trial that the social media giant lost in March.
Judge Bryan Biedscheid said $420 million of the money will be used for treatment services for young people. The rest will go toward awareness and prevention, screening services and other costs over the next five years.

More oil facilities deep inside Russia targeted
KYIV -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukraine has hit more oil facilities deep inside Russia.
The attacks are part of Kyiv's effort to undermine Moscow's wartime economy. Ukrainian forces targeted refineries in Bashkortostan and the Yaroslavl region. They also hit Russian military patrol boats in the Black Sea.

Deployment of troops to Gaza approved
KAMPALA -- Ugandan authorities have gained parliamentary approval to deploy troops to Gaza as part of an international force.
That marks Uganda's first public indication of its willingness to join the International Stabilization Force for Gaza. Morocco has also pledged troops for the mission.
