Sweltering heat wave grips parts of US
A scorching heat wave continues across the central and southern United States, leaving at least
40 million people under extreme heat warnings.
Heat indexes exceeding 105 degrees Fahrenheit are expected from Memphis to Montana to Las Vegas. The National Weather Service says parts of the Southwest could see temperatures as high as 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

Vetting of ICE officer under internal review
WASHINGTON -- President Donald Trump's border czar said the vetting of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer involved in the deadly shooting of a Colombian native in Maine is under internal review.
Relatives revealed to The Associated Press that the officer had a history of serious mental health struggles and violent behavior.
