Teen pleads guilty to murder in shooting
WINDER -- A teenager has pleaded guilty to all 55 counts in a deadly shooting nearly two years ago at Apalachee High School in Georgia.
Sixteen-year-old Colt Gray had previously pleaded not guilty to charges in the Sept. 4, 2024, shooting that killed two students and two teachers, and left several others wounded, at the high school.

Lawyer: Officer should be criminally charged
MADISON -- The Madison police officer who shot and killed Corey Ruiz should face criminal charges, civil rights attorney Ben Crump said Friday, after protests erupted in anger over videos of their struggle.
"They not only tackled him, not only tased him, not only kicked him, but you saw they shot him three times in his head and other parts of his body," Crump said.

ICC chief prosecutor removed from post
UNITED NATIONS -- The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has been removed from office.
The vote Friday to oust British barrister Karim Khan came nearly two years after sexual misconduct allegations against him first emerged. The decision comes at a time when the global tribunal is facing a campaign by the United States to "dismantle" the ICC, which was established to prosecute people responsible for humanity's worst crimes.

UNESCO adds West Bank, Lebanese sites
SEOUL -- A United Nations committee has inscribed a major archaeological site in the West Bank and a set of castles in southern Lebanon as World Heritage sites.
The decision, made Friday at a UNESCO meeting in South Korea, faced objections from Israel. Israel's Foreign Ministry urged the committee to reject the nominations, calling them a "weaponization of cultural heritage."
