50 years ago: June 12, 1975 — Brothers Dave and Gary Tipton of Claysburg who had won 49 trophies, mostly in wrestling in their four years at Claysburg-Kimmel High School, were named outstanding senior athlete and outstanding varsity wrestler, respectively.

25 years ago: June 12, 2000 — Barkman Oil scored 19 runs on 19 hits in a 19-4 win over Dick’s Pharmacy at Vets Field. Winning pitcher Rodney Alleman also went 4-for-4 at the plate while Josh McConnell and Matt Horner each had three hits for the winners.

10 years ago: June 12, 2015 — Nick Holesa hit a grand slam as Johnston Realty routed Sheetz, 17-2, in Greater City League baseball action at Juniata. In other games, Wise Trailer Sales downed Conrad Chiropractic/Lilly American Legion, 10-3, at Mansion Park with nine runs in the first inning. Jacob Stern had three hits.
