PIAA clears up enforcement of masks

The PIAA’s monthly meeting began Wednesday with the public comments of an official from District 2 expressing his frustration with being told he was unable to enforce athletes and coaches to wear their masks properly during a basketball game he was working. Fasick captures title

Altoona’s Caleb Fasick won the 120-pound championship at the Big 7 Tournament in high school wrestling action at the Altoona Area High School Fieldhouse on Saturday. Fasick defeated Central Mountain’s Zane Cooper by an 11-1 major decision in the final. Bellefonte won the team title. Altoona was sixth, and Hollidaysburg was seventh. The Altoona Area High School wrestling team has started its dual meet season with four straight victories, but Thursday night’s 44-23 win over outmanned Philipsburg-Osceola at the Altoona High Fieldhouse came with a bit of an asterisk attached.
