Eagles battle, finish second: Tyrone competes in PIAAs tonight

WINGATE — The seventh-seeded Tyrone wrestling team had a heck of a day in the District 6 Class 2A Duals semifinals and finals on Saturday at Bald Eagle Area High School. First, the Golden Eagles avenged a recent nail biting two-point loss to third-seeded Huntingdon, 39-21, in the semifinals. Judge ready to rule on McCort-PIAA case

The Panthers raced out to a 24-point lead after the first six weights. But the Bearcats began chipping away at the lead. ARMAGH — The Tyrone Area High School wrestling team advanced to the District 6 Class 2A Team Duals semifinals with a 36-30 win over United on Tuesday. Braden Ewing, Reese Wood, Zack Lash and Jason Barr had falls for the Golden Eagles, and Korry Walls and Andrew Weaver won by decision.
