HOLLIDAYSBURG — Marc Frye is in his first year as the girls varsity soccer coach at Altoona Area High School this fall, and he admits that there were some initial growing pains on both sides. “We got off to a little bit of a slow start this year,’’ Frye said. “I have a certain style and form of play that I want to coach, and it took the girls some time to adjust to that. The annual fast-pitch softball tournament held in memory of Mikayla “Mick” Focht, will be held this Saturday and Sunday at Legion Park in Hollidaysburg. The event that sponsors scholarships for softball players that are going to college was tabbed “4Mick” and created to honor former Hollidaysburg Area High School softball player Mikayla Focht who passed away in 2017.
