Williamsburg girls going to Hershey; Altoona girls, BG boys fall short

The Williamsburg High School girls basketball team advanced to the PIAA championships in Hershey with a 60-41 victory over Saint Joseph's Catholic Academy on Tuesday night at the Altoona Area High School Fieldhouse. Williamsburg, which won a state championship in 1997, will face District 1 champ Delco Christian at noon Friday in the Class 1A girls final. The Altoona girls fell to Dallastown, 36-35, in a 6A semifinal game, and the Bishop Guilfoyle boys lost to Trinity, 50-37, in a 3A semifinal. Both of those games were in Chambersburg.
