Dragons facing early start, long trip

The Central baseball team will be getting up early for a long road trip on Thursday. The District 6 champions will travel to Seneca Valley High School in Zelienople for a Class 3A quarterfinal game against District 10 champion Fairview, with the first pitch scheduled for noon. Altoona’s baseball team was honored for its standout season by the Mid-Penn Conference on Tuesday. Head coach Tom Smith was named the co-Mid-Penn Commonwealth Coach of the Year along with Cedar Cliff’s Justin Secrest. Seniors Lucas Muffie and Erik Rhodes were also selected to the Mid-Penn Commonwealth first team.
